I hate “About Me” sections … how much is too much to share, how much is not enough?
So I’ll keep this brief.
I’m Tara, 30 years old, and I hail from Southern Illinois. I am a college graduate, from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in history. I work for my family’s concrete company as a bookkeeper. I have been happily (most of the time, ha!) married since 2007 and became a mother in 2012 to Garrett and again in 2015 to Katelyn.
I have been book blogging since 2008, but I’m not a big name blogger … and I like it that way. I cherish my faithful followers and consider all of you friends.
I would like to say that I’m an eclectic reader … but I’m really not. I tend to stick with the mystery/thriller/suspense genre. I’m a sucker for book series. I prefer to collect as many books in a series before ever starting the series (and finding out if I even want to read the series…) My husband says I hoard books, but I prefer the term collect.
I’m kind of weird. True story. But isn’t everyone?! I am a tad OCD. I’m quiet, which people tend to interpret as snobby, but really I’m just super shy. Even around my family, I tend to stay in the background … it’s just how I prefer things. I’m a follower, not a leader. I’m not religious or political … but if you were to really press me on politics, I lean more towards liberal.
I said I was going to keep this brief, but obviously I’m writing my whole life story.
I’m addicted to the internet. I watch too much TV. I don’t read nearly as much as I would like to. I’m selfish. I get overwhelmed easily. And I am not very patient. I sometimes feel like I’m failing at the parenting gig, but I have to tell myself that I won’t emotionally scar them too badly.
I do have some good traits. (Although if you’re still here reading this you probably don’t think so by now.) I’m loyal to a fault. I can take a secret to my grave. I am an encourager. I will be your shoulder to cry on. I can’t “break up” with friends … no matter how much I need or want to.
I realize that I could keep going .. but it’s probably more than time to wrap this up. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me or tweet me!
